The Perth Registry Office Elopement of Miriam + Bryon

Nearly 15years ago she was my maid-of-honour, at a celebration with 200 of our nearest and dearest.  This afternoon it was party of five. After spending months planning their big day, Corona restrictions were changing almost daily towards the end of March, until the

‘slightly pared down outdoor’ wedding,

became the ‘family only, we’ll DIYcatering from Coles’ wedding,

which became the ‘none of our family can actually get into the country let alone across the state borders’ crash

which led to the ‘let’s just do it anyway and have a huge party in December’ elopement

which led to an empty room in the Perth Registry Office, with five love hearts on the ground (spread exactly 1.5m apart), a bride a groom, a celebrant and two witnesses who conveniently doubled as florist/photographer/YouTube live streamer/ring bearer/DJ/crowd and driver!

As a wedding photographer, it feels like I’ve spent the last six weeks grieving with my friend and with each of my couples as they have grappled with lifelong expectations dashed by current realities.  In the end, what has surprised and encouraged my heart, is seeing them all find peace in the process.  What has followed, are some of the purest, and sweetest celebrations of love that I have ever seen.  After all, what better way to enter a marriage, than alongside someone you KNOW will weather the unknown storms of life with you.

Romantic Kings Park Elopement of Gilmara + Callum

These two legends could have been casualties of the Corona laws (which caused them to replan their special day at least five times). In the end, there were no overseas family members, no crushing embraces, no live bands or crazy dance floor antics. But what remained was truly breathtaking. In the stillness of the setting sun, when everything else faded away, they held onto each other. And it was beautiful to witness. G&C it was a privilege I won’t forget xx A

FEATURED: Summery South American Inspired Wedding Fiesta

I’m so proud to be part of the dream team that was featured in Polka Dot Bride this week for this South American inspired styled shoot, combining the bold confidence of Frieda Kahlo and the eye-popping extravagance of a traditional wedding fiesta.  Throw in a pink church, a knockout Prea James gown, wild cactus, an explosion of flowers, ice pop margaritas and a donkey, and you've got yourself a party for the senses!!  I hope you enjoy viewing it as much as we enjoyed creating it. The Crown Wedding of Ginger + Spice {Odile + Mark}

From the moment I met Australia's own Meghan and Harry (aka Ginger and Spice, aka Odile and Mark) I knew their wedding day was going to be outrageously fun! Between the deeply heartfelt ceremony featuring Nona and Gramps, and the 'fishing' themed reception, we managed to party in the car park of the Re-store from a 'ute bar' which is a legit thing apparently, go fishing in a pond at the Crown Casino and vamp it up in the TWB Bar! The floral jacket, the killer blooms, the 'give anything a go' bridal party, and the epic love these two have for each other are something worth sharing. I hope you enjoy!

From the beginning, I knew that Jody and Bruno's wedding day would be a delight! Their obvious adoration for each other, their focus on fun and their adventurous hearts, resulted in an absolutely beautiful and unforgettable day for everyone involved. Throw in a knock out dress, a rare Aston Martin, a heartfelt ceremony by Jody's Dad and some stunning beach weather, and we had ourselves a blast of a time!!!! I can't explain to you how relaxing and enjoyable today was! We started with a quiet drink at home, as Colleen and Dave got ready together, then a quick drive to Kings Park for a bit of a wander around, a little stroll through East Perth, and finished up having a sneaky cocktail at Como The Treasury, before walking down the aisle together at the ceremony at Nedlands Yacht Club! Sundowners on the lawn, followed by a sit down gourmet BBQ to end the night off!!! I love how this couple prioritised what was most important to them and were bold enough to make it happen! Thank you so much for letting me be part of such a great day!

Yesterday was a proper family affair!!! Beginning with a heartfelt ceremony in the family church, and ending in an epic back paddock wedding, to put any event venue to shame (complete with pet cow and chickens)! From start to finish, the sincere fun and affection these highschool sweethearts have for each other shone through, and it was pure delight to adventure with them and their brilliant bridal party, through the countryside!

Yesterday was one of those winter days you dream about.. clear skies, warm sun, a string trio drifting on the breeze, glowing vines (and if you're me) two gorgeous lovers to photograph!!! From start to finish, the heartfelt details (including cake and cookies by the bride herself), the genuine love and the excessive laughter created a day that noone will forget.
